KILLOGY ANIMATED SERIES IN DEVELOPMENT FROM THE EXECUTIVE PRODUCER OF THE BOONDOCKS

Award-winning executive producer/writer Rodney Barnes (The Boondocks, Everybody Hates Chris) has joined forces with Robert to develop an animated television series based on Killogy. Barnes and Robert will serve as executive producers on the series, with Barnes penning the screenplay for the pilot episode. Celebrities Frank Vincent, Marky Ramone and Brea Grant, who all appeared in the Killogy graphic novel, will now lend their voices to the show. Producers Chris White (My Super Psycho Sweet 16 franchise) and Jeff Mazzola (Descent) are also on board.

Killogy leverages a unique mix of humor, horror and pop culture to tell the unique tale of a group of murderers who inadvertently unleash an ancient voodoo curse upon New York. “For me, it’s all a bit surreal,” says Robert. “I basically get to mash-up some of my favorite childhood heroes, throw them into these outrageous situations, and sit back and imagine what happens next. The series practically writes itself!”

"I'm happy to see the worlds Alan has created extend into new areas beyond comics," said Chris Ryall, IDW's Chief Creative Office/Editor-in-Chief. "His comic books are so visually intriguing and the characters he's created so fully formed that they'll translate really well into animation and other areas. But I'm also glad that he's still doing more comics, and the Killogy one-shot sounds like a perfectly dark treat for Halloween, too."

Killogy was nominated for Best Mini-Series at the 2013 Ghastly Awards and picked up a Horror Comic Award for Best Scene from ComicMonsters.com. Bloody Disgusting listed Killogy at #4 on their Top 10 Best Mini-Series of 2013. The Killogy graphic novel was recently licensed out to territories outside of the U.S. and will see a Brazilian release this summer from publisher NFL ZINE. The book will be translated in Portuguese. DOYLE (EX-MISFITS) TEAMS UP WITH LIFE OF AGONY’S ALAN ROBERT FOR KILLOGY COMIC THIS HALLOWEEN

Killogy-Doyle-CoverEx-Misfits horror-punk legend Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein will star in a special Halloween edition of Killogy, a comic book created, written and illustrated by Life of Agony’s Alan Robert and published by IDW Publishing (Godzilla, Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). The critically acclaimed Killogy graphic novel was originally released in 2013 with characters based on celebrities Frank Vincent (Goodfellas, Casino, The Sopranos), Marky Ramone (Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, the Ramones) and Brea Grant (Heroes, Dexter). The Halloween one-shot comic continues where the Killogy story left off and introduces new character, Doyle, as humanity’s last hope in a post-apocalyptic world flooded by an ocean of blood. The book will also feature a 10-page exclusive first-look at Robert’s forthcoming IDW series The Shunned One. Learn more, here: http://www.aintitcool.com/node/67307

Life of Agony to Return to the Stage this Summer

LOA Tour Dates 2014
Life of Agony is proud to announce that the band will perform in Europe this August, the first shows since the group’s lead singer Mina Caputo (formerly known as Keith Caputo) came out as transgender in 2011. The performances will take place at Belgium's Alcatraz Hard Rock & Metal Festival with Marilyn Manson on Friday, August 8th, Austria's Picture On Festival on Saturday, August 9th (headlining), Germany's Elb-Riot Festival with Machine Head on Saturday, August 16th, and Germany's X-Rockfest Festival with Machine Head on Sunday, August 17th. The famed River Runs Red lineup, rounded out by guitarist Joey Z, bassist Alan Robert and drummer Sal Abruscato are excited to take the stage together once again after a three-year hiatus.

“We’ve helped so many people around the world cope with their emotional struggles through our music, it was time to get back out there,” said Robert, regarding the group’s decision to reunite for the upcoming show. “Our songs connect with people on an emotional level because they were written out of real pain and hardship. It doesn’t matter if you’re white, black, blue, green, gay, straight, trans or whatever. Our fans know it comes from a real place and have stood by us. We’ve always worn our hearts on our sleeves. That is just who we are and that is something that will never change.”

All four Life of Agony band members have kept busy with other projects since their last performances together a few years ago. Mina Caputo released a solo album titled As Much Truth as One Can Bear with the help of a successful Indiegogo campaign. Joey Z continued to produce albums for several recording artists around the globe. Alan Robert released his third, award-winning horror graphic novel Killogy (IDW Publishing) and Sal Abruscato’s band A Pale Horse Named Death recorded its acclaimed sophomore album Lay My Soul to Waste (SPV Records).

"Using the likeness of Brea Grant, Frank Vincent, and Marky Ramone, writer/artist Alan Robert lets loose on the tough-guy dialogue with his three hard-broiled anti-heroes. With an art style all his own, Robert is heavy on the shadows and rich with primary colors. With such striking illustrations and pulpy dialogue, there is no way your eyes can look away from this." —Bloody Disgusting

ALAN ROBERT TAKES ON THE ANGEL OF DEATH IN NEW HORROR COMIC SERIES 'THE SHUNNED ONE'

The Shunned One (teaser)

IDW TO RELEASE ROCKER-TURNED-COMIC-CREATOR'S DARKEST TALE YET

Life of Agony bassist/songwriter Alan Robert teams up with award-winning publisher IDW Publishing once again to release another creator-owned horror comic miniseries The Shunned One in 2014. Robert's upcoming tale of winged woe focuses on an Angel of Death who goes rogue after being ordered to take several innocent lives. This guilt-ridden death angel begins to carry out his own judgment on humans, based on their actions instead of whether their names appear on the preordained Death List. The angel's unsanctioned murders instantly alter the balance within the universe and trigger a string of unforeseen disasters that spiral out of control. Banished from Heaven by his Creator and hunted by a pack of vengeful death angels, The Shunned One must hide among the humans to survive while trying to reverse the damage he's done.

The Shunned One marks the prolific creator's fourth horror comic series with IDW in four years; following his other critically acclaimed seriesKillogyCrawl to Me, and Wire Hangers. Visit the official website: http://www.theshunnedone.com

“This will definitely be my darkest series to date,” says Robert. “The tragedies in Newtown and Aurora really hit home for me. I can't even begin to imagine the pain those families are going through. I suppose The Shunned One is my subconscious reaction to events like that—just trying to cope with all this death and my worst fears in my own way.”

“I'm happy to once again put my life in Alan Robert's hands in the form of his latest series for IDW,” said Chris Ryall, IDW's Chief Creative Office/Editor-in-Chief. “As he's proven with his numerous series for us already, he's an expert at telling dark, fantastical tales, and The Shunned One, featuring the Angel of Death himself, is only the latest reason we're happy to keep walking into dark territory with him.”

The story is stellar and is elevated to an even greater height by splashed-out artwork that celebrates the plot’s pure carnage. Personally, I’d love to see this creator’s vision hit the big screen!"Geeks of Doom

“To witness this little story develop into what it’s become is quite mind-blowing to me,” Says Robert. “It’s true horror in the sense that it’s meant to scare the reader to the core. Not just visually, but emotionally, too. Edgar is as terrifying as villains get and not just because of the vulgarities we actually see on the page, but more so, because of what’s implied in between the panels.”

Crawl To Me is both written and illustrated by Robert, with a beautifully painted dust jacket by artist menton3 of Monocyte fame. It’s part psychological thriller and part haunted house story. Ain’t it Cool News praised it as being “Gorgeous and terrifying,” while Fangoria raved, “Readers will be blown away by the story and art of this psychological thriller.”  Crawl To Me was awarded Best Mini-Series of the Year by ComicMonsters.com and Hollywood is already taking notice. Crawl To Me is currently in development to become a live-action feature film, with a screenplay penned by screenwriters T.J Cimfel and David White.

“Alan’s like no one we’ve ever seen. Incredibly talented, incredibly motivated.” Says Editor-in-Chief Chris Ryall. “He comes in with these amazing, really dark, really twisted ideas. And you’re thinking, there’s no way a story like that can be pulled off in such a tight page count, and then the pages get here, and they’re complete home runs. Any series from Alan is a thrill.”
