"Using the likeness of Brea Grant, Frank Vincent, and Marky Ramone, writer/artist Alan Robert lets loose on the tough-guy dialogue with his three hard-broiled anti-heroes. With an art style all his own, Robert is heavy on the shadows and rich with primary colors. With such striking illustrations and pulpy dialogue, there is no way your eyes can look away from this." —Bloody Disgusting

San Diego, CA (July 19, 2013) - The Orphanage producer Rodar y Rodar has teamed up with Crawl to Me creator Alan Robert and his producing partners Jeff Mazzola (Descent) and Chris White (My Super Psycho Sweet 16 franchise) to adapt the critically acclaimed IDW Publishing graphic novel.
Victor Garcia, who helmed the upcoming Gallows Hill (starringTwilight's Peter Facinelli), is in the director's chair for the character-driven psychological horror film with a screenplay penned by TJ Cimfel and David White. Glenn Allen, Co-Founder/VFX Producer of Emmy-award winning Brainstorm Digital (Boardwalk Empire) is on board as VFX Supervisor. Producers aim to shoot interiors on a sound stage in Spain, where Rodar is based, and exteriors in Canada.
In 2011, the Crawl to Me comic book miniseries, written and illustrated by Robert, was published by award-winning IDW. The series was later collected into a graphic novel and sold out within days of its January 2012 release. IDW followed up its success with three more editions: an oversized hardcover Evil Edgar Edition, and two more top-shelf versions through their IDW Limited division.
The film takes place in an isolated country town during the frigid winter months. It centers on a young family as they cope with a series of disturbing events that force them to question their relationship, their faith and their very existence.
"Being a part of the process in making this film a reality has been an amazing journey for me," said Robert. "We've built a team of incredibly talented people around this project who are all super passionate about telling this story. The dark subject matter is extremely delicate and had to be handled right. It is in excellent hands." Robert recently announced his fourth partnership with IDW to publish his next horror series The Shunned One in 2014.
Yesterday, I received the ginormous art book TOME from 44Flood. This thing is a monster! I'm extremely proud and incredibly humbled that my artwork was included alongside some of the most talented folks I know. Contributors included Dave McKean, Bill Sienkiewicz, Menton3, Riley Rossmo, Ben Templesmith, and many, many others. The theme was Vampirism... here's my piece "Cups Floweth Over." The tattoo in which Megan inked on his leg was based on the cover artwork from Robert's "Crawl to Me" graphic novel, in stores January 2012 (click here to purchase) originally painted by Menton3 (Monocyte, Silent Hill). The episode, "Kings of NY" will air again on TLC, Thursday January 5, 2012 at 8PM ET/PT.

“Wooster St. has some of the most amazing tattoo talent around, so I was thrilled to get my piece done by Megan. Her style is perfect for the ink I chose,” said Robert. “Being on the show was a trip and it was interesting to see, first hand, just what goes into making a hit series like this. I give the artists a lot of credit, too. It’s one thing to deliver kick-ass tattoos day in and day out… but it’s another thing to try and do that with a bunch of cameras jammed in your face. No pressure, right?!”
